L'Auberge espagnole (English: The Spanish Apartment) is a 2002 French film directed and written by Cédric Klapisch. It is about Xavier, an Economics graduate student studying for a year in Barcelona, Spain as part of the Erasmus programme, where he encounters and learns from a group of students who hail from all over Western Europe.

The title of the film literally means "the Spanish hostel", and is a French idiom for something where you get out what you put into it. It is also sometimes used to mean a busy, chaotic place. The English title of the film is Pot Luck in the UK and Canada; Euro Pudding is an international title it was given, and it is also known as The Spanish Apartment. In Spain, where it is set, it was released as Una casa de locos —"Madhouse".

The film's portrayal is in the first-person perspective of the main character, Xavier, and is hence mainly narrated in French. Some of the dialogue is in English however, and a significant amount is in Spanish, as well as small amounts in Catalan, Danish, German and Italian.

The movie has a sequel, Les Poupées Russes (The Russian Dolls). A third film is upcoming.

Xavier: When you first arrive in a new city, nothing makes sense. Everythings unknown, virgin... After you've lived here, walked these streets, you'll know them inside out. You'll know these people. Once you've lived here, crossed this street 10, 20, 1000 times... it'll belong to you because you've lived there. That was about to happen to me, but I didn't know it yet.

Xavier: It was like I'd always lived in this mess. Their bickering was like the constant drone in my head since childhood.

Isabelle: Chicks are wacko, I swear.

Isabelle: It's a shame you're not a girl.
Xavier: The world's badly made.

Wendy: Why do you always have to smoke joints in *my* room?
Alessandro: Because it's comfortable.
Lars: It's the only clean place in the apartment.
[Tobias and Soledad laugh nervously, Wendy looks desperate]
Soledad: Take it easy, Wendy.

Xavier: I'm French, Spanish, English, Danish. I'm not one, but many. I'm like Europe, I'm all that. I'm a real mess.
